TRAIL is also the home of the Rare Disease Biobank

TRAIL Biorepository / Biobank is a New Zealand Health and Disability Ethics Committee (HDEC) approved Biobank. TRAIL Biorepository / Biobank involves a collection of consented tissue samples from patients together with relevant clinical information. The samples are housed in the Pathology Department at the University of Otago. The TRAIL Biorepository / Biobank tissues and data have been donated by patients to support ethically approved research.

TRAIL’s HDEC ethics approval number is, 2021/TB/11671.
